Darjeeling 2nd Flush teas are produced in northern India, from the second growth of tea plants in the late spring. Fuller bodied than their 1st Flush counterparts, these teas are celebrated for their rich fragrance, nuanced taste, and beautiful copper-colored liquor.
The beautiful Goomtee Estate, established in 1899, produces this classic example of the style. A wintergreen fragrance emanates from the tightly rolled, small dark brown leaves and abundant tips; sweet flavors of stewed plums are balanced with lightly astringent hints of wood.
